About Us

Welcome to Lord Strathcona Public School! We serve a diverse, Kindergarten to Grade 6, urban population of more than 250 students. We strive to prepare students to be critical thinkers, life-long learners, physically active, environmentally responsible and productive citizens in a changing world.

Lord Strathcona is proud to be an inclusive community where staff members, co-op students, teacher candidates and volunteers work hard to ensure that all students succeed. We come together to support student achievement and success through a variety of academic, community and extracurricular programs.

Our school community benefits from the strong partnership that exists between dedicated staff, highly involved students, strong school council and supportive parents. Our community partners include the Kingscourt Baseball Association, as well as the Ontario Early Years Centre, Child Development Centre, Kingston Community Care Access Centre, Pathways for Children and Youth and other agencies.

The YMCA runs a Before and After Care program at our school. The Boys and Girls Club also offers a reasonably priced after-school care service where students are transported by bus to the program downtown.
