Dear Families,

After some very challenging weather over the past week, I am sure I am not alone in hopefully welcoming more spring-like weather in the days and weeks ahead. While we are entering the spring season and the last third of the school year, I am reminded of the spring season’s promise of renewal and growth, and the importance of schools and families in supporting student learning and wellness.

Stock Transportation Update

As shared earlier this week, we are pleased to inform you that Tri-Board Transportation has been advised by Stock Transportation that an agreement has been reached with its Bus Monitors. Bus and van transportation will continue to operate as normal, subject to any regular delays and cancellations.

Thank you to our families and students for their patience and understanding over the past number of weeks as we navigated the potential disruption of services. We appreciate your kindness and continued support.

Upcoming Event: Artificial Intelligence in Limestone – Wednesday, April 30, 2025

We are excited to invite families and students to an evening focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Limestone on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at L.C.V.I. (153 Van Order Dr., Kingston).

We are planning an engaging and informative session for families to learn about some of the latest advancements in AI, how it is being intentionally integrated into our schools through some pilots, and the potential benefits and challenges it brings. This is a wonderful opportunity for families and students to explore the future of this technology together and understand its role in shaping our learning environments.

More information will be shared leading up to April 30 including registration information and an opportunity to submit questions.

Free French Second Language (FSL) Virtual Programs for SK to Grade 12 Students

Led by certified instructors, these free virtual programs offer fun and interactive learning for FSL students from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 12. Registration will open on April 14 at 9:00 a.m. EST. More information and a link to register is available on our website.

Upcoming Survey: Identifying Additional Need for Before and After School Programs

Later this spring, Limestone families will have the opportunity to help identify additional need for Before and After School Programs for students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 through an online survey. Once open, a link to the survey will be shared directly with families.

Ministry and Board Resources for Math and Literacy

There are many resources available designed to support your student’s learning in math and literacy, offering engaging activities that can make learning fun and effective for students and families. Visit Limestone’s Online Learning Resources and Tutoring webpage to learn more.

See Yourself in Limestone Student Census – Fall 2025

This fall, all Limestone students can take part in the See Yourself in Limestone Student Census 2025. By learning more about students' backgrounds and needs, we can create a more inclusive and supportive school environment. Student participation helps us:

  • Assess and work towards ensuring every student has a positive sense of belonging.
  • Enhance support: Develop support systems for diverse learning styles.
  • Inform decision-making: Provide data for better policies and outcomes.

More information will be shared with families and students leading up to the survey taking place in November. We invite all students to participate. Their voice matters, and together, we can build a stronger school community. More information will be shared leading up to the census.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to your continued engagement and collaboration this spring.

All the best,

Krishna Burra

Director of Education
